When you plan your wedding on a beach in Mexico, you don’t anticipate rain. But rain it did, on the wedding day of Dan and Gabby. Torrential down pour, is more like it, and it wasn’t your typical tropical rain fall where the sun comes back after ten minutes or so. But when you’re on holidays in Mexico by the beach, celebrating a wedding, things still don’t look so bad. You smile through it, you wait it out, and the sun does return. There was something about Dan and Gabby’s wedding at Barcelo Palace in the Mayan Riviera. It might have been the close-knit family who was there in attendance, to witness and celebrate the couples’ vows, those who were genuinely excited and one hundred (and ten) percent supportive. It might have been the parents’ speeches, who each spoke truly touching words of love and humor as well as an official welcome to the new member of their family. Because really, they were a part of the family long ago. It might have been the way that Shane and I were treated, like guests of the wedding. For all of these things – and more – I’m oh so grateful. Gabby and Dan, thank you for the privilege of being your photographer, and allowing us to document your wedding day. With a family like yours to surround you and the love that you two share, there can’t be anything but blue skies ahead ;) In between showers we quickly grabbed these shots in the courtyard…Gabby, you’re gorgeous. Waiting out the rain with her proud Dad at Gabby’s side… Shane got this image and it’s one of my favourites from the day. The light was pretty spectacular… Click on the slideshow below to view more photos from Dan and Gabby’s Mayan Riviera Wedding!
