Is there a better time of year than Christmas? The twinkling lights, the giving of gifts, the cozy togetherness. Good food, yummy drinks shared with family and friends. Christmas songs from childhood (Boney M anyone?), sweaters and boots and festive tree farms. Traditions new and old and a warmth even when the snow is falling outside. Yet there is much more… We’re facing a bout of illness in our home, and just as I’m all “why now??”, I’m reminded of families around us who are facing and fighting more than a passing cold. And yet they do so with such grace and incredible faith in our healer and our Savior, Jesus Christ, whose birth is the true reason to cherish the season. Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Savior, who is Christ the Lord… “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased!” – Luke 2:10-11 & 14 So here’s to cherishing a season of good news and a promise of peace, here’s to holding your loved ones tight, and having yourself a Merry little Christmas…
