I’ve come to love photo shoots indoors, using natural light and the intimate environment of a couple’s home. I like both the change up and the challenge it offers. A question came through my Inbox pertaining to the recent shoot I did of Bonny, Adam & baby Theo… I absolutely adore your photos from your last session, “Baby Theo” – the lighting and focusing is just perfect. Would you mind me telling me what lens you used and maybe even a few examples of the settings for a few photos? We actually faced some less-than-perfect lighting conditions during this shoot, especially as the weather kept changing from sunny to dark and cloudy. However, we made it work by sticking as close to the window light as possible and I’m incredibly happy with how the photos turned out. It also helped that we had the light coloured walls and white bedding to act as light reflectors. Here are a few examples with lens/iso setting/aperture/shutter speed info, all taken with my Canon 5d MarkII. The image on the left is straight out of the camera, while the image on the right has been edited. Hope that offers a bit of helpful insight! Feel free to post further questions in the comment section and I’ll do my best to answer. Happy Tuesday!
