I get really nervous before an engagement shoot (especially when one of them, in this case the groom, is a photographer!). I wonder how we will mesh, if the light will treat us well, if the elements will allow for and inspire creative, authentic photos that make you feel. So, I pre-visualize, I brainstorm a list of poses that I’ll loosely follow, scout out our location just prior to the shoot, and say a prayer. Well, Noah and Elise’s engagement shoot in downtown Vancouver just about made my heart burst. It quickly erased any nerves and afterwards, as I drove home from the city with the sun setting behind me, I felt entirely grateful that I get to be their wedding photographer. Noah and Elise aren’t afraid to be authentic, to laugh and to share their love, and their story could be written about in a book. A story of how God brought them together, and that when they met through church, Noah knew in his heart Elise was the girl for him. They’ll say I do this summer at the Brock House and I can’t wait. Many thanks, Noah and Elise!
