No one would have guessed that nine months after my sister and brother-in-law were married, they would be welcoming a sweet, little babe into their lives! Actually, I take that back. I guessed. The day before they told us the unexpected and exciting news, I guessed they would have a baby before too long, before they planned to, because that’s just the way their relationship has gone. It’s never unfolded according to their plan. Knowing God has his hand on their lives, though, is what matters. Immigration, student visas, work visas, long distance, postponed wedding…challenge after challenge, and while getting pregnant in their first year of marriage made for one more, it also may be the easiest thing they ever did. And besides meeting and getting married, the best.
I am giddy with excitement for the arrival of Whitney and Manolo’s baby, and to share the ups and downs of mama-hood with my sister. And for Zaya to have a cousin! Seriously, with my baby turing one next month, I’m ready for more newborn cuddles.
We took their photos on our side of the border, at the Nooksack river in Everson, Washington, and at our place. Not unlike the Vancouver area, the Pacific Northwest provides all kinds of beautiful light and perfect backdrops…
Such a gorgeous mama! See you soon, little one! xo

Thank you, Anna, that means so much! I answer that question in this faq post on post processing. I use the same preset for all my images. It came in the first film pack, but I can’t remember which one specifically!
