You know you have something special when you’ve been together for years, and yet you can’t keep your hands off one another, can’t keep yourself from stealing kisses any chance you get. Spencer and Jasmin were so much fun to hang out with and photograph as we wandered around Alouette Lake in Golden Ears Park. These two with their love for the outdoors and their love for each other, fit perfectly against the gorgeous scenery. We capped off the session by visiting a favorite swim spot of theirs, down a trail and tucked into the trees. I have a feeling their wedding at Grouse Mountain later this summer is going to be nothing short of amazing.

Infectious joy and celebration, the gathering of family and friends, handwritten vows and the commitment to love for a lifetime. And you can’t forget about the groom’s gift to the bride – the cutest kitten! I’m pretty sure there were smiles permanently fixed on the beautiful faces of Sabah and Richelle. It was such a privilege to share in their wedding day and document such a momentous and happy occasion. To the new Mr and Mrs Fadai, I can’t thank you enough! Michael and Sally were married at one of my favorite venues in Vancouver, the Brock House Restaurant. Their wedding day was unique in that we began coverage with their First Look (love First Looks!) at 9:30am. Beginning portraits that early on a Saturday morning meant that we had Jericho beach and the park pretty much all to ourselves. I loved having this sweet couple in front of my camera, and it was such a privilege to document them as they became husband and wife. Following the ceremony was a lunch reception in the tent, made stunning by Maria of Niche Event Stylists, where there was no shortage of joy and celebration. Michael and Sally, I can’t thank you enough for having me as your wedding photographer! Congratulations! We caught a beautiful Spring afternoon for David and Natasha’s engagement session in Gastown, and I couldn’t have been happier. These two are originally from Chilliwack but live in Alberta, so we had a small window of time while they were out for a visit, in which to document this oh so exciting season in their life. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again – engagement sessions are so important! There’s no better way to set yourselves up for incredible wedding day portraits, or get to know your photographer and vice versa. Plus, they’re fun. And even more so, this is a time in your life worth documenting. Take a moment from the craziness of wedding planning to focus on the most important elements of your wedding day – the two of you, and your love for one another. But back to David and Natasha ;) They will be saying their I do’s this September at the gorgeous Fraser River Lodge, and after our session together, and I know it’s going to be amazing. Natasha, you’re gorgeous! Jasmine Hoffman will be doing her wedding day makeup, and so she scheduled her trial for the day of their engagement shoot. I love when brides do this! It gives them a great idea of how their wedding day makeup will photograph.

My sister, her husband, and their son Luka welcomed Emma Reese last month. I had the honor of being present when Whitney gave birth to her, and as they learned that the little baby she’d been carrying all those months was a girl! We both had our boys, and then our girls, and we’re excited for these four (and whoever may come next) to grow up closely as cousins. These first few photos were taken when Emma was just six days old. We then did their family session at home when she was 13 days old, and she happily slept through just about the whole thing. Emma, you are the sweetest little bundle, and we’re so happy that you’re here! Auntie loves you! xo Headband: Arrow & Lace Designs Flowers: Buckets Fresh Flower Market

Happy Birthday, my sweet baby girl! Just like that, you’re one. I love going back to the moment we finally met face to face, because it was full of pure joy, one of the happiest moments of my life. Since then, you’ve grown and learned and changed so much in a year, but you continually make me a happy mama. You are such a delight, and a bright, little light. You’re a pretty content, happy baby that really only gets thrown by hunger (who doesn’t! and you love to eat!), and by teething. Ohhhh teething. You didn’t cut your first tooth until you were ten months old, and since then you’ve been making up for lost time. I guess you realized you could use some to properly enjoy your birthday cake.

Say hello to Stevie and Sloan! These sweet girls were a dream to photograph…and have a peek at their darling nursery! It’s always a privilege to get to document a family in the intimacy of their home, settling in with their newborn. And, well, getting to document these twins really was twice the joy! (can you tell by the amount of exclamation marks already?) To Erin and Lawrence, I’m so grateful I could capture a piece of your girls’ newness and beauty, and the love that you all share. Thank you! You truly have a lovely family.

Meet Rhett. I just about melted over this sweet nine day old, as we worked to capture the wonder of those first days at home. It’s not often that I photograph an entire newborn session without so much as a peep out of the baby, but this little boy was perfectly content to sleep through his shoot. We actually had to work quite hard towards the end of the session to get him to wake up, so we could get a few photos of those beautiful eyes, too! Mark and Kassandra, I can’t thank you enough for the chance to document you three! Congratulations on your sweet boy.

I met Jordan and Monica in January as they were eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first born, a little boy named Jace. I always get excited to hear the news after a maternity session, and keep an eye on my inbox for the sweet announcement of a new birth. I’ve been so enjoying all the newborn sessions I’ve been lucky enough to document lately! And Jace Harper at nine days old was no exception. Thank you to Jordan and Monica for so warmly welcoming me into your home to photograph some of your first memories as a family…

Meet sweet Emmy Claire. She was born into a family we are so grateful to call our friends, Dave and Alanna and their two boys Jackson and Silas. Two boys, and now a girl! You can imagine the excitement, the sweetness, the hair bows and the proud and protective older brothers. Everyone is just so smitten with this little girl and rightfully so! I had the best time documenting Emmy’s newborn goodness all snuggled up with her loving family at home…this stage is so fleeting, and beautiful and deserves to be photographed, so all those tiny features so perfect and new will always be remembered… Congratulations, Peters family! xo Hair bow: Arrow and Lace Flowers: Confetti Floral Emmy’s sweater: Zara Swaddle blanket: Little Unicorn Knit blanket: handmade with love by Emmy’s mama
