101 Update: Checking off #31, 37 + 63

June 13, 2011

Remember the 101 in 1001 list? I’ve been checking things off but not keeping up with one of the items on said list: blog as I go. So here are three recent check marks I made:

The first is pretty exciting…I had been waiting months for my contract to come up, living with a malfunctioning Blackberry and the good natured ridicule that came with it. But the timing was alright because just when I was ready to renew and purchase the shiny iPhone 4, they made it even prettier, in white. #63 – CHECK!

#37 is kind of fun: cut my bangs. I’m not always very adventurous when it comes to my hair, though at the same time I do love to switch it up. A friendly push from a friend I did it.

Do something that scares me. Number 31. The above two photos probably don’t look very daunting. Scary? Not likely. But. Walking across the Deception Pass bridge has been a feat I hadn’t been able to do. We camp on the other side of the bridge every summer, and every summer I couldn’t seem to do it. Until last weekend, when Shane said we had to. I’m okay with heights but ledges, that’s scary. 180 feet up from churning water, that’s scary. The couple times I paused to take a photo, I could feel my feet disappear beneath me and balance give way. As we crossed (see us, real tiny?), my hand clutching onto Shane’s, he asked me how we were going to go bungee jumping if I could barely walk across a bridge. HA! That’s on his list, certainly not mine.

That brings me to 25 1/2 completed items, out of the 93 I have on my list. Suddenly I don’t feel so productive…but what about you, do you have a 101 list? Do you have any suggestions as to what I should add to mine?

WHAT??? You walked across that bridge??! Haven’t I taught you anything?
Seriously, as much I feel every ounce of my being tingle and go limp at the thought, I admire you for doing it. Just don’t expect me to join you the next time!
And I love your bangs too!

  • More snow today and I’m just over here holding my breath it isn’t going to hinder our date night! 💃🏻 You know, that quarterly event (or so) where we get to slip out of the house, feeling free of responsibility, and then spend dinner chatting about our children and looking at cute photos of them on our phones 😜
How often do you leave the house for a date night? What’s normal these days? 🍽
  • That feeling when you get your inbox down to zero! *or slip into the dress and marry the man of your dreams* But seriously, cleaning out that inbox was the highlight of my day. That and getting the floor mopped and receiving all kinds of sweet, wet kisses from my littlest 🙃
  • Loved you yesterday
Love you still
Always have
Always will ♥️
  • There’s just something about a snow day (or two!) ❄️
  • The winds couldn’t keep the snow away this time, and we are pretty happy that it finally came to our little corner of the pnw. Post-sledding hot cocoa + puzzles were necessary ☺️ Now we await the next storm 🌬
  • In light of #fridayintroductions, here are a few random facts you may not know about me...
👩🏻
I share my birthday with a certain groundhog and most often, the Super Bowl
😏
I used to lift weights and watch carbs, now I lift kids and eat it all, and I’m pretty good with that. 🍕
I’m a homebody who loves to travel. Most recently added high to my list of places to visit is Israel.
✈️
I think dinner leftovers are gold.
🍽
I don’t wear a ton of makeup, but it still feels weird to me to go a day without any.
🤷🏻‍♀️
I believe time is more valuable than money, and faith and family are everything. ♥️ I’m so excited to be spending my birthday weekend digging deeper into God’s Word, learning more about my Creator, at a conference with @kay.arthur. And then cheering for anyone but the Patriots.
😆
  • It could have been the idyllic ferry ride to Orcas Island, or the winding drive once we arrived, making you feel like you were on summer holiday.
It could have been the venue, Rosario Resort, set on the water, and the scent of the sea, or the sweeping views from atop Mt Constitution.
It could have been the palpable love between bride and groom, their joy, and how they invited everyone around them to feel it, too.

Okay, it was probably all of these things and more! Because like I said in my last post, there was something about this wedding. See more by checking out the link in profile ✨
