As I’ve been catching up on this space, my own little corner of the internet, I’ve been reliving some pretty incredible weddings from 2019. This one is no exception…to put it mildly ;) This is what you get when the bride’s family owns multiple greenhouses, her sister creates gorgeous wedding florals, and when design runs in the family. I was fortunate enough to shoot alongside Dan of Hatch Photography, as I swooned over the talent and care that went into crafting the stunning details, and celebrated with neighbors and new friends as Sarah and Steven tied the knot. The more weddings I photograph, the more I appreciate the intimate celebrations, the elopements, the small destination weddings. Nothing against a big bash, of course ;) But there’s something to be said for the more laidback and cozy feel of it. And often it means more time for the bride and groom to spend together, and do something a little off the beaten wedding path, like this one… After getting ready at Hotel Bellwether on the water in Bellingham, these two shared their First Look at Makeworth Market… …and took the time to toast to one another… After a few more portraits around downtown Bellingham, it was time to say I do back at Hotel Bellwether Always, always take a few moments for sunset photos… Loved getting to document this day with Dan of Hatch Photography

Loved getting to document this sweet newborn session for friends who had long prayed for this little one, and faced countless challenges in the meantime. Their reliance on God’s perfect plan and trust in his faithfulness is inspiring and so full of hope. And now this perfect answer to prayer, Madison Lena, makes this beautiful family a family of four…

This was the perfect wedding to wrap up my season this year. Becky and I go way back to high school, and have a mutual bestie in common, my cousin Megs. They all call the Okanagan home, where my cousin and her family own a farm in Summerland. It was the perfect setting for Joe and Becky’s intimate wedding and we were so grateful to share in their beautiful day. Shane and I got to enjoy a weekend away, stay with some of our closest family, and document a beautiful couple in love, committing to forever together. Joe and Becky, we can’t thank you enough! We loved getting to share in your celebration with your family and friends. Hair + Makeup: Salon 1919 Flowers: Confetti Floral Bridal Gown: Mikaella Bridal Reception: Theo’s in Penticton

Congratulations to Nick and Donna (and their sweet son Jamey!) on their wedding that took place earlier this month! The rain threatened just prior to the outdoor ceremony, but the weather turned and we were treated to a beautiful sunset. Perfect for sunset photos that we gratefully were able to sneak away for during the reception. I loved the florals by AJR Designs (those sweet blushing bride proteas in Donna’s bouquet!) and was impressed with the updates done at The Falls in Chilliwack, like their new bridal suite. Many heartfelt thanks to Nick and Donna for having me as your wedding photographer! Venue: The Falls Florals: AJR Designs Makeup: Rose Quartz Beauty Hair: Montana’s Bridal Hair

Mat and Katina wove their own personal touches and love of food into their wedding day at the beautiful rose garden at UBC. After almost ten years of being a wedding photographer, I still get excited to see how each couple makes their day uniquely them, and Mat and Katina sure didn’t disappoint. From her choice of floral gown and Kate Spade Keds, and bouquet of herbs and vegetable greens picked from her sister’s garden in the Okanagan, to their incredible swing dance and his fitted purple suit. Not to mention all of the cakes were made by Katina, and served up by the couple to the guests. The reception also featured course after course of delicious “international street food” dishes. It all made for one special day, enjoyed by all. Thank you so much, Mat and Katina, for having us there to document your wedding!

Meet our newest niece, born to my sister and brother in law, Hallie Marie. Isn’t she the sweetest? Big brother Luka and big sister (big sister?!) Emma are smitten with her and everyone can see why! These were taken at 8 days old in our old childhood bedroom at our parents’ house. Hallie was such a little darling…

I’m so happy to get to share these mama and son maternity photos just in time to celebrate Mother’s Day. I had the pleasure of photographing Sondra and her sweet son Andrew when he was just a baby, and then the whole family last Fall. I loved getting to spend the evening with these two in Bellingham, and documenting this season of expectation as they look forward to meeting baby girl next month! Many, many thanks, Sondra. Can’t wait to hear the news of your little girl’s arrival!

I always adore these types of sessions, but they’re made all the more special when it’s for a friend. Julie and her family welcomed a daughter recently, a sweet baby girl. I was all too happy to join them at their home and document all five together, this little girl having already found her special place among her family, with two big brothers to protect her and love on her. Also, this girl’s nursery is a dream! Scroll down to see. Well done, Julie. Congratulations, Sean, Julie + boys! So happy for you all.
