It didn’t take long after Shane proposed that the wedding planning began. For one, I’ve had ideas floating around in my head for…well let’s be honest. I’m a girl. So, honestly speaking, for years. But we also believe that a short engagement is the way to go :) One of the first things on my to-do list was to enlist my ladies! So as a fun way to ask them to stand with me on our wedding day, I came up with the following, and thought I would do a little, super simple, DIY post to go with the pictures. Supplies needed: Cupcakes, Aleene’s Tacky Glue, 1 sheet of card stock paper, toothpicks, embellishments (if you wish), a printer, scissors, and a paper trimmer. 1. Purchase delicious cupcakes! Or, if you’re up for it, bake them yourself. I knew I couldn’t live up to Tracycake standards and since they’re my favourite… 2. Create a word document – I listed my bridesmaids, maid of honor, and flower girl (that’s who the baby cake was for!) Print on some nice card stock paper at home and cut out into long strips using the paper trimmer. I allowed extra length just to be safe. 3. Fold the strips in half and stick the toothpick in the crease. Apply glue. Fold over and press for a minute so it can dry. 4. Once dry, take the scissors and snip the flags as you wish. Insert into cupcakes. 5. The best part – present to your lovely ladies :) And then jump up and down or cry or hug because guess what – you’re getting married and you’ve got some of your besties beside you!
