Last weekend I not only had the honour of being in a wedding, but to start off the weekend of love, I had the privilege of photographing one as well!
Amy and Brent. They were married on what was one of the most perfect summer days we’ve had this year, in my opinion. Pretty sunshine, a slight breeze, not too hot and not too cold. I woke with a fever the morning of their wedding but several hours and many prayers later, I was refreshed and rejuvenated outdoors photographing these two. Maybe it was the infectious feel of the day, the celebration and the love.
And so many reasons to love this couple…like how Amy and Brent planned lots of time for photos! We had much fun on our golf carts – I’m pretty sure we could use one at every wedding ;) – and made great use of the gorgeous property at The Falls. Opting for a ‘first look’ allowed for all the time…but not only that, the moments they shared were so sweet. I think it’s my favourite part of each wedding. And it certainly didn’t stop the emotion and the tears from coming as Amy walked down the aisle to become Brent’s wife.
To the newly married Mr and Mrs VanderRose…congratulations and thank you. Thank you so much for sharing your day with me. I hope you had the most wonderful, relaxing mini-moon and that being back in the real world so soon is treating you well :)
Amy’s gorgeous Sottero & Midgley gown? She found it on Craigslist! And plans to pass it on again! How’s that for resourceful?
The guys and the girls each had a villa up at The Falls to get ready in
Their First Look…
Amy and Brent had scoped out the place prior to the wedding and had some great finds for photos…
Some of my favourites…
I was excited to hear that Pastor Ezra Okoti from our church, Northview, was to perform the ceremony…he was the one who really pushed me to pursue photography.
I loved that Amy and Brent stole a few moments for themselves during the reception for a few sunset shots…
S’more on a stick!
