So there went August. There went summer, pretty much! I’ve been taking this recent good weather for granted, assuming it’s going to roll into October…stick around for a wedding perhaps??!
Along with the wedding, there’s something else kinda big that sometimes I forget about. I’m moving! Well of course, right? Shane has an apartment in town so that’s where we’ll be creating our home for the next little while. Before the babies come ;) And while we’ll be living out our plans to jet set around the globe…So a particular part of the move that I’m rather excited about it this: I get an office! No more bedroom/living room/kitchen/where ever I can plunk my laptop type of office. This will be a true work space. With proper organization. Can you feel the excitement??
I’ve been collecting ideas via Pinterest but your input is wanted…where do you suggest finding the most lovely, fun, and functional pieces for an efficient workspace?
Amy Connolly says
definitely Ikea for organizational stuff! Turn an old door into your desk.

i’ve found a lot of very functional items at the salvation army, goodwill, thrift shops, vintage shops. glass, metal, wood. i use a set of 5 loaf pans to hold my thank you notes to mail to clients, stamps, ribbons. wood crates for packaging items. there are all kinds of ways to repurpose found items. spray paint is by far my favorite thing to use. :) i get a magazine called ‘flea market style’. i think they just put it out on the stands, too. it’s only out like twice a year. if you can’t find it in a bookstore or walmart there, check online. great inspiration. i love mixing new with the old. here’s my work space pinterest selection, too. :)

I absolutely LOVE Ikea for all kinds of things to do with an office. I also love finding things second hand and repurposing them! Spray paint does awesome things for picture frames and any little things that you would like to change the color of!

I’m in the middle of an office redo, too. I found furniture at ikea (just couldn’t beat the value), and can’t wait to get the space all put together! I’m hoping to get some wall organization from pottery barn (their daily system), but that still remains to be seen.

So…you may be gaining an office, but I’ll be gaining a sewing room! ;) (happy/sad)
I may need to borrow some of your ideas. Or maybe we could go shopping together!

You will love having an office! My husband and I just moved a few months ago and I finally have a workspace and I love it! It has already been mentioned, but Ikea is the place to go, there are just so many options and the prices are so reasonable! Can’t wait to see the finished product soon!
