It has felt so wonderful to come out of slow season, picking up the camera more frequently and connecting with clients. Stephanie and Patrick are no exception. Though the rain fell and the temperature was cold, it didn’t dampen our fun as we explored Gastown in Vancouver.
Stephanie and Patrick’s story begins over ten years ago, on St Patrick’s Day, when he worked up the courage to ask her on a date. Green beer in hand. Their story later brought them to Gastown, where they lived for awhile and which brought us there for their engagement session. I love, love when clients choose their location based on the history they have with the place…I believe they get better photos as a result.
Last year, Stephanie and Patrick’s love story took another turn when Patrick, once again, worked up the courage to ask Stephanie another question. This time, it was on a vacation in Hawaii. And he had a ring in hand. She said yes! and just then, the skies opened up and the rain fell like crazy.
Which made their engagement session in the rain in Gastown all the more fitting…

Great job, Mikaela… love the one with the yellow 2 behind them… it pops out really well, and of course is super symbolic!
