It was at a mutual friend’s party in Vancouver where Aaron and Stephanie first met. Aaron gave her a ride home, and when he didn’t ask for her number, Stephanie gave it to him. Her boldness must have left a lasting impression because he didn’t hesitate, calling her the very next day. So began their relationship which spanned over the next four years and moved them from their hometown of Abbotsford to Kamloops, where Aaron was hired by the fire department.
Recently, when Aaron and Stephanie bought a house together, Aaron again didn’t hesitate. He knew they were making a commitment already, so why not go all in? As they walked into their new home together, he took a knee and surprised Stephanie by sealing the deal with a ring on her finger.
They’ll return to Abbotsford this September to her family’s home and really make things official and I can’t wait to be there to document it all!

Every shot has a really natural and unique pose, and at the same time the pose shows how much love there is between them. None of them look akward or cold. How do you get your subjects to do that? How do you direct them? When I shoot I find the people I am taking shots of need and want more direction on posing but I have difficulty with how to give it. Any tips?
