I wouldn’t be surprised if a piece of my heart is still there in the city streets, caught in the filtered sunlight dancing between old brick buildings. As much as I love coming home, our quick weekend in New York was just that. A tease. It was all too wonderful to get to photograph two amazing, engaged, couples while we there (here & here). Is there a better way to get to know a city? Sometimes I dream of living in a place like that for a season – surrounded by architecture rich with history and character, walking down the street to get your groceries, having your pick of unique coffee shops and restaurants to pop into. Ah well. We’ll save that for our random travels here and there. And in the meantime, my heart is grateful for the dreams of travel and photography that God is allowing to be lived out.

Mikaela, I absolutely LOVE looking through all your photos. You are so wonderful at what you do and your writing is so sweet and full of life. I’ll be in NY soon and I can’t wait to see the beautiful city. It’s such a pretty city and you’re right, the architecture is so pleasing and I look forward to catching shows, enjoying all the lights and sounds. Can’t wait to see the engagement photos you took.
