Trent and Jade may have been married on the hottest day of the year (so far) and yet photographing these two made me forget about the heat, forget that I was carrying around a near full-term baby. Photographing these two and their love and their union of marriage was more than a treat.
The day began at Cultus Lake where Trent popped the question to Jade on a dock at Christmas. It was on that same dock that they shared their first look, a sweet moment that was witnessed by perhaps a few more people than their proposal, as the lake was brimming with boats and sun bathers. For that reason we didn’t stay too long, but headed towards the venue in Abbotsford. With the forecast in mind I had scouted out a couple shaded locations for photos to ensure a happy wedding party ;) Speaking of which, many thanks to Trent and Jade’s wedding party for being so fun and so wonderful to work with!
The ceremony and reception were held at the lovely Triple Swaan Nursery, a beautiful spot tucked away in the country between the mountains and the river. Under a weeping willow tree Trent and Jade said their I do’s, and the tears couldn’t be stopped from falling down Jade’s cheeks…and it made the ceremony, officiated by Trent’s uncle, all the sweeter.
To the newly married Mr & Mrs Harms, thank you. I loved getting to share in your joy and your family’s joy as you two became husband and wife. Thank you so much for having me as your wedding photographer and I wish you two nothing but the best!

Oh my goodness that tree is so amazing!! Was it a challenge to shoot under that canopy with the sun filtering through and creating strange shadows? Your photos turned out beautifully!
Mikaela says
Hi Meg! Thanks! Fortunately the canopy was large enough that we had lots of even light to work with, but yes, we did have avoid certain spots. (so sorry this reply is coming so late! just saw this comment now!)
