It didn’t take long before I knew we’d be friends. Rachel and I had exchanged several emails by the time I met with her and fiance, Tim, for Starbucks. So, when we got to chatting about their vision for their wedding and photography, it was easy to connect and relate and share in their excitement. I loved that they came knowing what they wanted, that they already valued their investment in their photos. At the same time, it was so neat to hear about their emphasis on preparing not just for the wedding, but more importantly, their marriage. Their love of God and love for each other was more than evident. And as we lingered over coffee and conversation about how Rachel and Tim came to be soon-to-be husband and wife, the engagement session plan just sort of revealed itself… Tim proposed to Rachel at Quail’s Gate in Kelowna, and so we retraced their steps for their session! I love this…seeing as wedding planning can be hectic and draining (from what I hear!), Rachel and Tim have been taking dance classes as a way to have fun and keep the focus on them…and prepare for the party after the ‘I do’s’ :) After grabbing a bottle of wine, we headed back to the vineyard for a tasting… I always wanted to do a shoot like this… Some yummy lunch, an outfit change, and a short drive later, we were downtown Kelowna for part two… I think I’d like to shoot in Kelowna more often! We had such fun wandering and exploring… The light, the umbrella, the boots…love! And you guys are wonderful. People have asked me what my favourite part of the whole photography business is. For me, it’s the chance to connect with others…these wonderful, unique, fun and in love people that God brings into my life. Rachel and Tim, you are two of these people. Can’t wait to see you become husband and wife and document your wedding day! xo
