We are sitting in front of the fireplace, coffee made with our new french press in hand, excitedly viewing our full collection of wedding photos that just came via email. It’s a good morning! It’s so strange to think that our wedding has already come and gone, right along with our honeymoon. Though I do admit, as our time away came to an end, I grew more and more anxious to return and begin settling into our home together. Shane carried me over the threshold into a sparkling clean place thanks to my mom and sister! How we’ll find room for our two lives to blend into one in our apartment is still in the works…it will be cozy! Oh, but our honeymoon. I’m so glad we jetted off right after our wedding. I remember coffee with a girlfriend a couple months ago – how she said that time away would be so important, starting off our married life just us against the world, a team, a family. And what better setting to do that than the beautiful beaches and lush, tropical-ness of St Lucia. Warm turquoise water, hot (HOT) sun, icy drinks in our hands, and all the time in the world. I even managed to read two novels while away, doubling the number I’ve read all year! There was our adventure in zip lining through the island’s rainforest (another check off my 101 list), kayaking on the open water, and making up for the fact that we didn’t eat at our wedding (how come you always hear that from brides and grooms? I even swore that wouldn’t be me!). There was waking up slow and our suite up on the hill side, up a steep climb and set among the trees with a view of palm branches and ocean. And every night we were sung to by a chorus of frogs and bats just outside our windows. As you can imagine, that we certainly do not miss. There was also the first time I was called Mrs Bradley, upon our arrival at the resort. Greeted with a cold, damp face cloth to beat the sticky air on our skin, an icy beverage and a warm “Hello Mrs. Bradley.” I loved the sound of that.
