Last weekend marked Canadian Thanksgiving and our belated anniversary celebration. Life has been a little crazy as of late (When is it not? Perhaps for a few days in January?) and I’ve been feeling a little out of sorts, but the long weekend offered moments of pause and plenty of good times with the ones we love. It started off right with a bike ride with my love and a Thanksgiving feast around the dinner table with family and old friends… Our anniversary celebration was timed according to the Seattle Seahawks’ schedule – last year Shane swept me off my feet with a stay and fancy high tea at the Empress in Victoria, so this year I suggested a football game to balance things out. And really, I had been begging to go see the Seahawks play again for the last year so it was a win/win. Make that a win/win/win as the Seahawks continued their at-home winning streak… …with thanks to our especially loud cheering squad of course…who else should be celebrating their anniversary in Seattle, but our friends Jasmine and JD :) The weekend wrapped up with stops in Fairhaven and our property on our drive back from Seattle on Monday, and then we were treated to another round of turkey goodness and gratitude with friends. Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
