Before we knew it, the week was wrapping up and the biggest day had arrived: Peter & Chaundra’s wedding. She slipped on her mother’s wedding dress from the late ’70’s – revamped to Chaundra’s design – and went to see her groom for their first look. That took place at 8:30 am and flowed right into the beach ceremony. Quite literally: as we wrapped up photos of the two of them, their families had gathered and Peter took Chaundra’s hand and the stretch of beach become their processional. A ukulele was played, rose petals were tossed, and the bride and groom made their way into the circle of family members. By approximately 9:30 am, Peter and Chaundra were pronounced husband and wife by his sister, the officiant. And then they devoted the day to celebrating. At the house, the back deck had been transformed by Chaundra’s mom and sisters – colourful banners and little white lights fluttered in the breeze, palm branches graced the place settings and there was champagne ready to pop. Over brunch, Peter and Chaundra had a little announcement for their guests: they had booked a yacht for everyone for the afternoon. Peter and Chaundra (and families!), we cannot thank you enough – for trusting us to document your wedding week and for welcoming us with such warmth. We are so grateful to have crossed paths with you and spent time with you, and we wish you nothing but the best in your new journey as husband and wife! Proof that ‘first looks’ are the best… Two things I love: love & morning light. Beautiful on the inside and out.
