My heart is full when I think over the week Shane and I spent with the Kum and Austin families in the seriously beautiful Virgin Islands. Peter and Chaundra knew just how to plan and create experiences (and therefore memories) for everyone to take home with them; from welcome gift bags upon arrival, to living like locals in a spacious, modern, waterfront villa, and excursions on St Thomas and St John. Island lifestyle was refreshingly slow. Winding our way through steep, lush hills, rush hour merely amounted to chickens crossing the road, or perhaps the occasional wild donkeys on St John. Though slow as it was, we would easily wake up with the sun…I can’t remember ever seeing so many sunrises all within a week. And we were incredibly honored to be there documenting it all. With the wedding on Friday, our last day, Thursday was spent by taking the quick ferry ride to St Thomas and exploring the island. Peter and Chaundra created their own walking tour of historic Charlotte Amalie for the group and we couldn’t help but take a few photos of the two of them as we wandered about. I was obsessed with the character of the place, the colour and the texture and the light… Dinner, drinks & karaoke at Tickle’s…the time the staff insisted we were the cast of The Real World, which was being filmed nearby. At Fat Turtle – the best mahi & plantain sandwich. Magen’s Bay Honeymoon Beach Approaching home sweet home via the ferry Wedding photos – the perfect ending to a perfect week – to come very soon!
